How I spent my time...
In the last week of June (and for the second consecutive summer), I attended the National Mariachi Education Workshop in Las Vegas with Mx. Allen-Benes, with whom I run the Carlsbad Unified String Collective Mariachi Club. Last year we got the club off to a great start, and this year, we're looking forward to seeing some new faces and diving more deeply into the music and the culture. For the remainder of the summer, I took it easy, spending time resting, catching up on doctor/dentist appointments, reading books (on my new Kindle), gardening, and spending some quality time with my kitties and my dear partner, Obosa. It felt like exactly what I needed after such a busy school year, and now I'm refreshed and excited to begin a new one!
